Youth for Emerging Technologies: Robotics, AI and Drones

Session 1: Welcome Ceremony and Keynote Speeches

The event began with a warm welcome and inauguration, followed by inspiring keynote talks under the theme: "Nepal is Evolving in the Global Robotics Industry."

Speakers shared how Nepal is starting to make progress in technology through local innovations, research, and youth involvement. They encouraged students and young innovators to take part in the fast-growing fields of robotics and AI.

 

Session 2: Panel Discussion

Theme: “From Curiosity to Creation: Inspiring the Next Tech Leaders”

This session brought together youth entrepreneurs, educators, and industry experts, who shared their insights on the challenges and opportunities to newcomers in tech face. Key points discussed:

Importance of mentorship and access to resources

Need for early exposure to STEM education

Overcoming challenges like lack of funding and tools

Learning from failure and staying motivated

It was a highly interactive session, offering real-world guidance to aspiring tech leaders.

 

Session 3: Project Presentations – Showcasing Innovation

Six innovative projects were presented, showing Nepal’s growing talent in technology:

Diyo.AI

Presented by: Mr. Bijayan Bhattarai, CEO, Diyo.AI

A leading initiative in Speech and Language AI, Diyo.AI is making a significant impact by focusing on low-resource languages of Nepal, making language technologies more inclusive and accessible.

 

Drone-Based Reforestation

Presented by: Er. Subash Shrestha, R&D Head, RAN

Highlighted the use of drones for replanting landslide-affected areas and distributing seeds in hard-to-reach terrain — an innovative blend of environmental action and engineering.

 

Bots Industries – Vayudristi

Presented by: Mr. Shakriya Pandey, CEO, Bots Industries

Introduced Vayudristi, Nepal’s first low-cost air quality monitoring and forecasting system. This project targets real-world impact in public health and environmental policy.

 

Robotics in Medical Science

Presented by: Dr. Nutan Sharma, Laparoscopy Surgeon, BNB Hospital

A deep dive into how robot-assisted surgeries is beginning to transform healthcare in Nepal, with real case studies and future projections for medical robotics.

 

Kantibir Tradelink

Presented by: Mr. Pankaj Paneru, Kantibir Tradelink

Focused on innovations in industrial automation and engineering services, alongside smart building materials like toughened glass and HPL panels. Also covered maintenance services for hydropower, coffee machines, and product development.

 

Mach Orbitals

Presented by: Mr. Mohan Tamang, CEO, Mach Orbitals

A visionary startup working to democratize access to space by developing cost- effective hybrid-engine rockets for small satellite launches. Their mission is to make space exploration accessible, affordable, and Nepal-driven.

Reflections from Robotics Club

The conference was a great learning experience. It gave us new ideas, inspiration, and a chance to meet experts and innovators. From local tech solutions to space exploration, we saw how Nepal’s youth is ready to lead the future.
